Private Communications Corporation Privacy Policy

Effective April 10, 2015

Private Communications Corp. (PCC) is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of our users. Our CEO & Founder Kent Lawson always says, "We are a privacy company, full stop." This means that at the end of the day, privacy is both our policy and our mission, and we want to ensure that you feel, and are, protected and secure.

The ins and outs of this Policy might prove to be a bit long for you to read through. If that's the case, we want to keep it simple. Here is our privacy policy in a nutshell: we promise to be open, honest and transparent with you about how we use your Personal Information (defined below), and we will not knowingly use your Personal Information for any reasons other than the purposes identified in this Policy. And we do not sell that information to anyone else.

This Policy describes how PCC collects and uses the Personal Information you provide on our website, www.privatecommcorp.com. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information, and how you can access and update this information. If at any time you have any questions or concerns about how our website stores or uses your data, you can reach out to us at privacy@privatecommcorp.com to get a personalized response.

By submitting your Personal Information through our website, you will be considered to have given your permission and consent for the collection, use, retention and disclosure of your Personal Information as set forth in this Policy.

Use of our website and Private Communications' services are limited to persons who are of legal age in the jurisdictions in which they reside. Private Communications will not knowingly accept any information from an individual under the age of thirteen (13) years. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), any information that Private Communications may receive from any individual who is reasonably believed to be under the age of thirteen (13) years will be deleted.

Remember, we care about your privacy and take it seriously. Read on for further details.

What Personal Information We Collect From You

We take great care to only collect from you the minimum necessary Personal Information that is required to operate our service. By limiting what we collect, we help protect the privacy and security of your Personal Information.

We collect the following information (what we refer to as "Personal Information") from you:

  • Contact Information, such as name, email address, and mailing address.

This information is collected and used so that we can:

  • Send you product information, such as white papers and other marketing information, which you requested.

We promise to never send you excessive marketing emails or advertisements. You may choose to stop receiving our emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or by sending an email to privacy@privatecommcorp.com.

How We Share Your Personal Information

Except as described in this Policy, Private Communications will not disclose any Personal Information that you have provided to us to any outside parties.

Below are some ways in which we may disclose your personal information:

  • If required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
  • When we believe, in good faith, that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • To any other third party, if we have your explicit prior consent to do so.

PCC may also disclose your Personal Information to a third party in connection with a proposed sale of our company or its assets. We will require any such third party to treat your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The third party will have the right to use your Personal Information and may change how it uses or shares your Personal Information. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in uses of your Personal Information and any choices you may have regarding the use and/or disclosure of your Personal Information.

How We Use Cookies and Web Beacons

We place cookies on your computer to collect non-personally identifiable information to compile aggregated statistics about visitors to our site. For example, we will know how many users access a specific page and which links they clicked on, but not which users. We use this aggregated information to understand and optimize how our site is used.

We also use web beacons on our site to analyze how our site is used, and in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications.

How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals

Private Communications does not track its customers over time and across third party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. Most browsers allow you to set the DNT signal so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

We take the protection of your data very seriously.

Private Communications follows generally accepted industry and commercially reasonable measures to protect the Personal Information submitted to us from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

While Private Communications strives to undertake reasonable and necessary efforts to secure Personal Information provided to us through the website, even such security measures do not guarantee the security of all Personal Information, and Private Communications does not guarantee that the Personal Information it collects will be protected in all circumstances, many of which are beyond Private Communications' reasonable control.

If you wish to request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, please contact us at privacy@privatecommcorp.com.

What Happens if We Change Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes to this Policy, we will post those changes to Private Communications' website, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.

If, however, we are going to use users' Personal Information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their Personal Information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our website notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices and/or this Policy.
